I was struggling to find a home in a crazy hot market. Houses that showed up on the market at 08:00 were under contract by noon — in all cash deals at well over asking price and one-week closings. I wasn’t bringing all cash to the table. I worked with two other agents and looked at literally hundreds of homes before someone referred me to Edward Slavis at the Slavis Group, eXp Realty. He patiently walked me through the current market dynamics, the value of my current apartment and options for renting or selling it, and then we started to look at properties. We worked with Edward to purchase a property in January 2024. We knew that he was very knowledgeable about the DC area, but he also has significant experience and insights about the surrounding VA and MD areas as well. Edward did an amazing job helping us buy our first home in NW DC. He is a very experienced real estate agent, has a good understanding of home construction, is an excellent negotiator, and is a very clear and concise communicator. We would highly recommend you go with him! We were looking to buy a home within walking distance of our neighborhood school. Edward pointed out that in the few years prior, only a handful of homes that met all our criteria would have sold each year. Edward suggested contacting people who lived in our area of interest by letter to see if anyone was interested in selling their home off market.
